Started digging into the mobile photography subject and found this TED talk by David Griffin about photo journalism.
As I’m exploring the limits of photography made on the go and with as little post processing as possible, certain things sparked my interest.
- What makes the presented shots resonate with viewers is the human element: they’re stories about people
- Certain types of photography will never be possible with a cameraphone — know your constraints, don’t get distracted by temptations
- Assess the constraints though: a good genre may come out of sticking to them as well as overcoming them, so watch my itches
- Most of the photos David has shown didn’t seem heavily post processed
